Cabined Account
Epic Games' restricted account type for Fortnite players under 13. Voice and text chat, purchases, and adding friends are locked by default until a parent grants permission for each.
How kids use it
Applies automatically if the child signed up with a real under-13 birthday. If your kid lied about their age, the account isn't cabined — you can correct the birthday in Epic account settings.
Good news — "Cabined Account" is a protective feature, not a threat. The catch with platform safety features is that most ship OFF by default, or only half-configured.
- Turn it on deliberately and re-check it after big app updates — settings occasionally reset or move.
