Shellfish

Acting selfish or only caring about yourself—a play on the word "selfish." Teens use it to call out friends or themselves when they're being self-centered. Not inherently risky, just social criticism among peers.

How kids use it

"That's so shellfish of you" or "I'm being shellfish right now."

Is “Shellfish” something to worry about?

No — "Shellfish" is ordinary 2026 teen vocabulary, not a warning sign. Knowing it just makes you harder to talk past.
