Half-swipe
Reading a Snapchat or Instagram message by dragging it partially open so the sender never gets the 'opened' receipt. Kids use it to read without being on the clock to reply. Useful to know it exists: 'delivered, not opened' doesn't mean unread.
How kids use it
Snapchat chats; the reason "he never opened it" may be wrong.
"Half-swipe" is about avoiding adult eyes. That’s developmentally normal — every generation had a version of it — but it tells you where your current setup has gaps.
