VRChat is a free virtual reality social platform where users create and explore thousands of user-generated worlds, attend events, play games, and interact with other players using customizable avatars. The app emphasizes creative freedom and community-driven content, available on VR headsets, phones, and tablets. While fun and imaginative, it's an open space where minors can encounter strangers and unmoderated user-generated content.
VRChat does not prominently document parental controls in its app store listing. Parents should be aware that blocking and muting features exist in-game, but these are user-managed. There is no built-in parental-control dashboard. Check VRChat's privacy policy and settings menu for friend-request filters and reporting mechanisms, and discuss online safety expectations before use.
