Triller: Social Videos & Clips
Watch riskRated Watch · How we rate
A struggling TikTok clone with thinner moderation — explicit music-video content and stranger contact, minus TikTok's teen protections.
| Minimum age | 13 |
|---|---|
| Strangers can contact | Yes |
| Location sharing | No |
| Disappearing messages | No |
| Parental visibility | Limited |
Triller is a short-video app built around music and creator clips that never matched TikTok's scale — or its safety investment. Moderation and age controls are weaker, so explicit lyrics and mature videos surface more freely, and there's little of the teen-account protection TikTok has been pressured into adding. Public profiles allow stranger contact. Low adoption, but no real guardrails for a minor.
Triller does not prominently advertise parental-control or privacy settings in its App Store description. Parents should: check account privacy (public vs. private), review who can message or comment, monitor live stream participation, and set app time limits at the OS level. Confirm these controls in-app before allowing younger teen use.
