To succeed, impress, or handle something confidently and well. 'She slayed that test' or 'That outfit slays.' It's a positive affirmation that someone did something exceptionally or authentically. Widely used across ages now but originated in LGBTQ+ communities.
How kids use it
General approval: 'You slayed that performance'
No — "Slay" is ordinary 2026 teen vocabulary, not a warning sign. Knowing it just makes you harder to talk past.
