Teen shorthand for a mood boost — “this is my serotonin” means something reliably makes them feel better.
How kids use it
Used for whatever they reach for when low: “scrolling TikTok is my serotonin”, “I need my serotonin”. It is mostly harmless, and it is one of the more honest windows teens give you into what actually regulates their mood. The thing worth noticing is what gets named — if the answer is always a screen and never a person, a place, or sleep, that pattern tells you more than the word does.
Is “Serotonin” something to worry about?
No — "Serotonin" is ordinary 2026 teen vocabulary, not a warning sign. Knowing it just makes you harder to talk past.
