What it actually is

Tellonym lets users create a shareable link to receive anonymous questions and messages from anyone, then answer and share those responses publicly. It functions as a hybrid between a Q&A feed and a messaging app, with built-in DM features and cross-posting to Instagram and Snapchat.

Check privacy settings to limit who can send you "Tells" (anonymous messages). If available, enable restrictions to allow only known friends rather than open-link sharing. Review linked Instagram and Snapchat accounts to control cross-posting of answers. Disable notifications from strangers if that option exists.
