AlexTV is a supervised YouTube experience designed for parents who want to let their kids watch YouTube creators safely. Parents hand-pick which channels their children can access; everything else—Shorts, ads, recommendations, search—is hidden. The app also offers Focus Mode (no scrubbing or skipping), daily watch limits, and no in-app ads or upsells.
Key Parental Controls:
- Channel Approval: Add only the creators you trust. Your child can only watch those channels.
- Focus Mode: Locks playback controls—no scrubber bar, skip buttons, or related-video suggestions. Forces linear watching.
- Daily Limits: Set a time cap (e.g., 30 minutes) or video count. Access stops automatically when the limit is reached.
- Ad Blocking: All ads are stripped; your child never sees pre-roll, mid-roll, or sponsor integrations.
- Shorts Disabled: Short-form video is unavailable.
- No Search or Trending: Your child cannot browse, search, or discover content outside your approved list.
Maintenance: Review your approved-channel list regularly, especially as your child's interests grow. Test channels yourself before approval.
